Case study · 2025
Grand Design Pihat designs gardens and green spaces in Finland and abroad. I rebuilt the company's website: from Squarespace to WordPress, from one language to two, and from a single projects page to a portfolio in six categories.

Grand Design Pihat designs gardens and green spaces in Finland and abroad. I rebuilt the company's website: from Squarespace to WordPress, from one language to two, and from a single projects page to a portfolio in six categories.
01 — Client
The founder of Grand Design Pihat, garden architect Heidi Hannus, has designed gardens for more than 30 years, from private gardens to public spaces and international garden festivals. The old site didn't show the breadth of that work, and it didn't serve clients abroad.
Featured in international competitions and press
Flower Jam 2018, Flower Jam 2019, Flower Jam 2020, Gardens and People 2019, Côte d’Azur Garden Festival 2021, Scan Magazine
02 — Redesign
Scroll to watch the old Squarespace site turn into the new one. The hero became a video, navigation got clearer and every project found its place.
Finnish only
Finnish and English
One projects page
Portfolio in six categories
No page for competitions or press
Competitions and press on their own pages
Squarespace
WordPress and Elementor
03 — Structure
The new sitemap organises more than thirty years of work into clear sections. The gold branches show which pages were born in the redesign.
New page
04 — Website
Every portfolio category got its own page and gallery, and the company got its own story.
05 — Two languages
Clients abroad now find the home page, company, portfolio and contact details in English, and the site works just as well on a phone.
06 — Findability
SEO isn't one setting but hundreds of small choices. Here are two real examples from the site.
Every page has its own title and meta description, the English pages included.
File names say what and where: garden design, city, materials.
All 114 portfolio images have a description that screen readers and search engines understand.
Garden and Landscape Design | Grand Design Pihat
Garden and landscape design quickly and easily. We tailor outdoor spaces that combine elegance, functionality, and individuality.
<img>07 — Result
The new site launched in early 2025. Every project now has its place, clients abroad get the content in their own language, and the structure can take on new projects without another rebuild.
